As a fellow in Discovery Green’s Art Lab she worked with mentor Jen Lewin, Houston-based design and architecture firm Metalab, and Art Lab co-creator and co-curator Weingarten Art Group. Art Lab gave her the support, guidance, contacts and budget for a capital-intensive project like Chroma Collective.

Metalab honored to receive Gold Brick Award for The Waldo Mansion, at 201 Westmoreland.

In addition to adding two land bridges over Memorial Drive that connect the north and south sides of Houston’s largest park, this project added acreage of green space back into the park and heals the divide that Memorial Drive previously created by cutting the urban wilderness park in half for generations.

Scottsdale Public Art commissioned the design and installation of “Sunburst,” the newest piece of public art in the City of Scottsdale’s Permanent Art Collection. Created by RE:site and installed at SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center in south Scottsdale.

Houston-based practice Metalab in collaboration with the University of Houston has designed and begun manufacture of ‘SPACE’, a prototypical off-grid field office for the company adaptive container. an acronym for ‘solar powered adaptive containers for everyone’, the unit is a reused shipping container with a fold out solar rack system with 20 panels on the roof.

Three years after winning an ARCHITECT R+D Award, Metalab has cleared several hurdles to commercializing its innovative solar panel mounting system.
